"The Crookston Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of municipal streets, downtown street lighting, sanitary sewer system, residential refuse and recycling collection, and repair of municipal maintenance vehicles and equipment."

The department consists of the Director, six Street Maintenance personnel, two Wastewater Operators, two Sanitation personnel, and one Mechanic.

The Street Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 45 miles of asphalt paved roads, 5 miles of gravel roads, and 7.9 miles of alleys. These personnel are also responsible for the maintenance and removal of the City's boulevard trees.

The Wastewater Department is responsible for the maintenance of eight lift stations, 43 miles of sanitary sewer main, 7.9 miles of interceptor sewer mains, and three hundred and twenty acres of primary and secondary treatment ponds.
