2013 Water Flouridation Award

The Minnesota Department of Health announced that Crookston's Water Division of Public Works has been awarded a Water Flouridation Quality Award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Flouridation is the adjustment of flouride in drinking water to a level that is effective for preventing tooth decay. The award recognizes those communities that achieved excellence in community water flouridation by maintaining a consistent level of flouridated water throughout 2013.

For 2013, a total of 2,184 public water systems in 33 states received these awards, including 119 (out of 960) in Minnesota.
