Notice: Twigs and Branch Collection

Branch and twig collection will be held the second and fourth Mondays of each month running May through October.  Place the materials on your curbside.  Branches must be cut in four-foot lengths and bundled in order for the crews to take them away.  Any branches or tree trunks not cut to this length and bundled will be left for the owner to haul away.  Twigs may be in boxes or bags. Individuals removing their diseased elm trees should call City Hall to schedule pickup.

Request for Proposals for Comprehensive Planning Services

The City of Crookston Planning Commission is requesting proposals from qualified consultants for the update of the City of Crookston Comprehensive Plan.  Please review the below RFP document for further information and instructions on the submittals.  Submittals are due no later than May 29th, 2015 at Noon (Crookston Local Time).

Job Opening: Accountant

The City of Crookston is now accepting applications for the position of Accountant.  This position is responsible for complex and varied accounting duties.  This position is the primary assistant and support to the Finance Director.  Essential responsibilities include: financial functions such as general accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, cash receipting, and financial reporting.  This position also assists with cash flow, investments, and financial systems using established procedures and independent judgment.

Job Opening: Maintenance Service III with Public Works Water Division

The City of Crookston is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance III in the Public Works Department. This is an entry-level position primarily responsible for acquiring utility meter readings. Secondary responsibilities are in the maintenance and repair of the water treatment and distribution system. Position requires a valid Minnesota Class B driver’s license with airbrake endorsement or ability to obtain within six months of date of hire.

2014 Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Report

The City of Crookston is issuing the results of monitoring done on its drinking water for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2014. The purpose of this report is to advance consumers' understanding of drinking water and heighten awareness of the need to protect precious water resources.

Spring 2015 Clean-Up Week

April 20th – April 24th is Spring Clean-Up Week in Crookston.  Clean-up items will be picked up only on your regular garbage pickup day and must be placed on the street boulevard.  Please note: Compost material - grass clippings, lawn or garden waste - WILL NOT have to be in City compost bags for this week only.  Cleanup items should be separated into the following piles:  garbage, clothing, cardboard, etc.; appliances; branches and yard waste; furniture, metal items, demolition, etc. and tires.  Placing these items out in separate piles will help speed the clean-up process.

Good Friday Closure Notice

City Hall will be closing at noon on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 in observance of Good Friday.

City garbage collection for Friday will remain the same.

Job Opening: Summer Employment with Public Works Water Division

Crookston Public Works - Water Division has openings for summer employment. Applicant must be at least 18yrs old and have a valid driver license. Average work week is 40 hours completing by noon on Fridays.

City Council Strategy Session
