NOTICE: Downtown Snow Removal

Downtown snow removal will take place beginning at midnight tonight (night of 12/27, early morning of 12/28) barring unforeseen heavy snowfall or other emergency. Please try to park in off street parking lots.

NOTICE: Garbage Collection

City Hall will be closed on Monday, December 26th in observance of the Christmas Holiday.

Garbage collection for Monday, December 26th (Christmas Holiday) will be collected on Tuesday, December 27th . Tuesday’s garbage collection will remain the same.

City offices will be closed this Thursday & Friday, November 24th & 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Garbage collection for Thursday & Friday, November 24th & 25th will be collected on Monday, November 28th. Monday’s garbage collection will remain the same.

Snow Removal Reminder

Shovel Your Sidewalk Promptly

Keep a critical part of Crookston’s transportation system moving. City ordinance requires that snow and ice be removed from sidewalks within forty-eight (48) hours AFTER snowfall CEASES.

If snow and ice are not removed as provided, it may be removed by authorized City personnel and the costs for snow removal, along with an administration fee, will be assessed against the property.

2016 Mayor for a Day Essay Contest

A message from the Mayor:

"I wish to encourage all Crookston youths (4th, 5th and 6th graders) to participate in the "Mayor for a Day" essay contest sponsored by the Minnesota League of Cities. This year, we're asking students: If you were mayor for a day, what would you do to make it easier for residents to get from place to place in your city? For the entry form and more information visit Entries must be submitted by October 17, 2016 to the league office.

NOTICE: Fall Clean-Up Week

October 24th – October 28th is Fall Clean-Up Week in Crookston. Clean-up items will be picked up only on your regular garbage pickup day and must be placed on the street boulevard. Please note: Compost material - grass clippings, lawn or garden waste - WILL NOT have to be in City compost bags for this week only. Cleanup items should be separated into the following piles: Garbage, clothing, cardboard, etc.; Appliances; Branches and yard waste; Furniture, metal items, demolition, etc. and Tires. Placing these items out in separate piles will help speed the clean-up process.

The City of Crookston Parks & Recreation Department is hiring part-time park maintenance and seasonal Crookston Sports Center workers.

NOTICE: Mosquito Spraying

The City will spray for mosquitoes tonight, Thursday, September 22nd beginning at 6:00PM. The entire town will be sprayed, weather permitting.
