Garbage Collection Notice

City Hall and other City offices will be closed on Friday, January 1st in observance of New Year's Day. Garbage collection for Friday, January 1st will be collected on Monday, January 4th. Monday's garbage & recycling collection will remain the same.

Downtown Snow Removal

Downtown snow removal will take place beginning at midnight tonight barring unforeseen heavy snowfall or other emergency. Please try to park in off street parking lots.

Job Opening: Maintenance Service III/Wastewater Operator

The City of Crookston is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Service III Wastewater Operator for the Wastewater Division in the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City’s wastewater treatment system. The position requires a current Minnesota Class D wastewater operator license or ability to obtain license after mandated experience requirements. Position also requires a valid Minnesota Class B driver’s license with airbrake endorsement or ability to obtain within six months of date of hire.

Garbage Collection Notice

City Hall and other City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26th & 27th, in observance of Thanksgiving Holiday. Garbage collection for those days will instead take place on Monday, November 30th. Monday's garbage collection will remain the same.

Curling League beginning at CSC

CSC Curling Leagues will begin with a Fun Day held at the Crookston Sports Center on Wednesday, December 2nd with sessions at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Anyone interested in Curling come on out and give it a try! If you have a team, please register it at the Parks & Recreation office at City Hall. Regular league play begins Wednesday, December 9th, with first matches beginning at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for the afternoon and evening leagues.

Reserved Parking at the Crookston Sports Center

Reserved parking is available at the Crookston Sports Center! The City of Crookston is making available four (4) east door front row reserved parking spaces on a first come, first served basis. This reservation is for the complete calendar year of 2016. Cost is $120.00 per parking space. Pay today and receive November and December 2015 at no additional cost. Call 218-281-1242 for information. Payment will be taken at City Hall, with reservation confirmed upon payment.

2014 Water Fluoridation Quality Award

The Minnesota Department of Health announced that Crookston's Water Division of Public Works has been awarded a Water Fluoridation Quality Award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Fluoridation is the adjustment of fluoride in drinking water to a level that is effective for preventing tooth decay. The award recognizes those communities that achieved excellence in community water fluoridation by maintaining a consistent level of fluoridated water throughout 2014.

Request for Proposals to Provide Audit Services

The City of Crookston is requesting proposals to provide audit services of the 2015, 2016, 2017 comprehensive annual financial statements to be submitted to the State of Minnesota. Proposals must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015.  Proposals received after the above date and time may not be considered.

Job Opening: Maintenance Service III

The City of Crookston is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Maintenance Service III in the Public Works Department. This position is mainly routine manual laboring work with hand tools and, in some cases, fuel powered equipment such as mowers, weed whackers, sod cutters, and other similar equipment and tools. The Maintenance Service III position person may, from time-to-time, drive a CDL regulated truck with air brakes.  Most work will be of the manual or hand type labor.
