Weather

If you do not yet own one, purchase a weather radio. While they can lead to a rude awakening at night, they also keep you safe by alerting you to hazardous weather in the area. They can be purchased at many stores, such as Walmart, or online at places like Amazon. They generally cost $20-$30 and last quite a long time.

For your safety, check the weather report semi-frequently in order to know if there is a high chance of severe weather in the coming days. The city website also has weather monitoring built in. The side bar on all pages has the current conditions as well as a short-term forecast. Should the area be placed in any form of advisory, watch, or warning by the National Weather Service, an alert (provided by WillyWeather) will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
